How Much Does a Wedding Planner Cost?

Planning a wedding can be an overwhelming and daunting task for even the most organized people, with many couples turning to wedding planners to help them navigate the details of their big day. One of the most common questions we receive from couples is “How much do wedding planners cost?” The answer to this question can vary widely depending on several factors, including the location of the wedding, the level of service required, and the experience of the planner.

Types of Wedding Planning

Eventfully Designed was founded on the central philosophy that no couple and no wedding is made the same. From the venue to logistics and vendor selection, each detail deserves the special attention necessary to make it feel like an extension of you.

We strive to ensure that the service you receive from us not only makes a lasting impression on your guests, but helps to tell your unique story in the process. With that being said, the cost of planning often depends on the level of planning you need. While we only believe in customizing each proposal to fit your exact needs and budget, these are average prices for planning across the industry.

Month-Of Wedding Coordination

Typical Range: $1,000-$1500

We approach Month-of Wedding Coordination in two parts: Confirmation Planning and Execution. The month-of coordinator role begins thirty days before the wedding date, during which we have a planning kick off call, create guest and vendor timelines, design your floor plan, do a venue walk through, meet with each vendor, review contracts and tie up any loose ends. We become your go-to person for managing vendors, contracts, the venue, and logistics to make things run smoothly. Our goal is to take the hardest parts of planning and management off of your shoulders so you can relax and focus on what truly matters.

When the wedding day arrives, we switch to the execution phase which is “Day of Coordination” and is included in the overall Month-Of Coordination package and price point.

Partial Wedding Planning

Typical Range: $2,000-$2500

Partial Wedding Planning is one of our favorite planning types because it is so flexible and allows you to receive support in the exact areas you need while having full Month-Of Coordination included.

At Eventfully Designed, we pinpoint the exact areas you need a “full service” planner for and execute those things in its entirety. These areas could be florals, rentals, catering sourcing, venue hunting, etc.

Full Service Wedding Planning

Typical Range: $4500+

Full Service Wedding Planning has us working with you from the beginning to the end in every single area of the planning process. It also includes a full month of coordination and post wedding wrap up.

Day-Of Wedding Coordinator

When a venue says they require a day-of wedding coordinator, we don’t recommend a literal approach ie. only hiring a coordinator for one day. There are countless details that go into the big day that really need to be assessed in advance of the big day. For example: what if a vendor didn’t know the right expectations you had for their services? That could be difficult or impossible to solve on the big day. Or, what if there was a stipulation in your venue contract that stated that the party had to conform to a rule that you weren’t aware of? That could create a really tense situation that could have been avoided. We recommend that you treat your day of wedding coordinator as a Month Of Wedding Coordinator, and we highlight the differences between those two types of wedding planners in our article here.

If I have a smaller budget – is it even an option to have a partial or full service wedding planner?

At Eventfully Designed, we truly believe in customizing each planning package so you can ensure you are getting exactly what you need while staying in budget. We have had multiple full service and partial planning clients with smaller overall budgets. The key is to be transparent about your budget and what you are envisioning. From there, we will put together a game plan.

In conclusion, while hiring a wedding planner can be a significant expense, it can often times save you money in the long run. At Eventfully Designed, we believe in being the advocate for our clients. From logistics and contract negotiation to the overall design and small details, we are here to make your budget work for you.
